As an adult I finally learned to truly appreciate the ranch land that has been in my family for generations. Along with that came an appreciation for all things old, dusty and rusty and with a story to tell that existed at what was once commonly known as Cottonwood Ranch. I wanted to bring this name back to life once again to honor and pay tribute to those in my family who worked this land for so many years and as I continue to keep it in the family and keep ranching this land. It is my legacy, my father's legacy and my grandfather's legacy, for my little girls to carry on when I am gone.

The majority of the original furniture pieces I began this venture with came from the Cottonwood Ranch house in Gillespie County, Texas and my childhood home in Kerrville, Texas and each visit brings a newfound, but long-lost, ranch-rustic treasure discovered while pickin' out at the ranch. I then make over these treasures and/or repurposed them to give them a new lease on life! This is where my fascination with antique and vintage furniture originated.

Though I'm a country girl at heart, in the big city I began a career in law enforcement in 1999. Law enforcement led me to the love of my life and my lovin' man, and in 2008 and 2009 we welcomed our two beautiful little girls into the world. My life was forever changed, as were my priorities. After being incredibly career-oriented and driven, I became burned-out and dis-heartened by my chosen career path. I now felt there had to be something more to life and something out there that I truly loved to do. My passion. So after much thought over other ways of bringing in income so that I could escape a stressful job situation and spend more quality time with my girls, I decided to give a small business a whirl!

I loved how much of a transformation just a simple coat of paint could give old furniture pieces screaming to be made pretty and useful again, and the bit of beauty I may add to this world speaks more loudly than any impact I could ever have hoped to make in the law enforcement world! This business grew out of my passion for all things old, dusty and rusty and the stories they have to tell.

And this is where the story of Cottonwood Ranch really begins........................
